Leicester Promoter In Awards Nominations

Leicester Promoter In Awards Nominations

With 100 gigs and 3 tours under his belt for 2013, David Norris is keeping everything crossed in the hope that he is voted the Pure Rawk Awards 2014 Music Promoter of the Year. is an online publication focused on rock, metal, punk and the sub genres within. Whilst they cover larger bands, over time their core ethos hasn’t changed – to support unsigned, independent and new music.

The awards attract a lot of attention from the unsigned and independent music scene and winning the title would bring David huge accolade as one of the cities biggest promoters.

The Leicester promoter who runs Music First Promotions said “it would mean so much and be the perfect way to cap off what has been an incredible year for me”

He continued “There are some other very worthy nominations in there as well, so thank you guys for getting me through to the shortlist and please vote for me to win”

Pure Rawk was started six years ago and initially started the awards as a bit of fun with the first awards attracted just 150 votes. But fast forward to 2013 and the vote count reached 11,000+

David Norris is one of Leicester’s hardest working promoters and puts on gigs at The Shed on a weekly basis. He also has a huge following in Loughborough where he puts on regular events and also organises the ‘I Wanna Be A Rockstar’ competition.

For the past three years the winner of the best promoter award has been “Emma Scott Presents” and to be honest we at Leicestershire Music think its about time that Ms Scott gets well and truly kicked off her thrown and a new promoter is crowned ‘King of the Promoters’.

So lets hope that the Leicester promoter wins the 2014 awards and puts Leicester well and truly on the map for being one of the main music hubbs in the UK.
