I Wanna Be A Rockstar – There’s Still Time To Enter

I Wanna Be A Rockstar 2014

It seems only five minutes since I Wanna Be A Rockstar (IWBAR) 2013 was in full swing and no sooner did the 2013 winners ‘Titan’ raise their crown of music glory than it all starts again.

Rockstar is one of biggest music talent show’s in the City and has earned itself a reputation for spotting some of the best music talent across the UK.

Conceived by one of Leicester’s most well known music promoters, David Norris of ‘Music First Promotions’. It has fast earned itself a reputation for offering some great prizes, along with industry recognition and national exposure with the added bonus of being heard by a group of independent judges.

David Norris owner of ‘Music First Promotions’ said “This is our third year of running the IWBAR competition and judging by the feedback I have had so far 2014 will be the best year yet”

Rockstar is hosted at ‘The Shed’ Yeoman Street, birth place of the world famous band Kasabian and see’s 30 bands from across the UK come together for eight elimination heats leading up to a huge finale to find out who will be crowned the winner.

During its short life IWBAR has already helped to elevate both ‘Smokin The Profit’ and ‘Titan’ onto the national stage. As well as seeing some of the biggest bands around take part including BB Blackdog, Kickstarter, and The Brandy Thieves.

What is different about Rockstar compared to some of the other music competitions is that it offers some great prizes that are designed specifically for a band hoping to make it into the music industry long-term.

These prizes include:

  • A professionally produced music video.
  • A professional photography shoot.
  • A fully commissioned professional band website.
  • A fully booked and confirmed UK tour
  • Commissioned artwork
  • A digital strategy review of your band

As well as a selection of other prize, which are usually added as the competition progresses, so it is well worth ‘keeping your eye on the prize’, so to speak.

David Norris said “I always try to source prizes that are going to be useful to a band over the long-term and hopefully make it easier for them to launch professionally.

There are also a selections of prizes for the runner up as well as significant recognition for many of the bands that enter.
