Hinckley Music Festival Set To Rock

Hinckley Music Festival 2014 is just around the corner! Now in its second year it promises to be bigger and better than 2013.

Organiser Bill Donaghue says “it’s only happening because so many local people are pulling together, Hinckley needs an original music festival, and the wealth of talent in the borough warrants it. We have the cream of the crop here this weekend there is nothing on this weekend in Leicestershire that can compare”.

It’s not V, Glastonbudget or Download it’s a laid back temporary weekend home for lovers of good music.

Platform for the local music scene, featuring a variety of music genres, from new young talent to established bands, it is held over the 11th and 12th July. Friday’s headline act is Jilted Generation (Tribute to The Prodigy) who are supported by the superb Spirytus and Emperor Chung (who appeared at Download festival 2013) amongst others. Saturday’s acts those such as The Social Ignition, The Desert Monkeys (Arctic Monkeys tribute), local big hitters Resin and Steven Faulkner.

The genres of music are wide ranging and include Rock, Indie, Acoustic, Ska, Soul, Hip-Hop, and more The festival boasts 50 live acts – all of whom hail from Hinckley and the surrounding areas, 2 DJ rooms until 3am hosted by Afterhours who bought The Ministry of sound to Hinckley earlier in the year, food stalls, a licensed real ale bar, craft stalls, and camping facilities meaning that it’s the best value weekends entertainment you will find this summer!
