Blow Up Leicester

As featured on Facebook events:

As part of our Blow Up 20th Anniversary celebrations we’re pleased to announce that Blow Up are coming to Leicester for a one-off show with live guests Alfa 9 + The Silver Factory & Blow Up DJs!

Expect classic tracks from both Blow Up’s past and present: from Brit Pop era favourites (the scene which the club helped kick-start way back in 1993 in Camden Town) to the current new Pop stylists putting the art back into pop . . . Brit Pop, Glam, Mod & New Wave colliding with 60’s Soul, Beat, Garage, Funk, Ska, Swinging Soundtracks, Hammond Heavy Jazz, Easy Listening & Ye-Ye!

In 2013, Alfa 9 returned with ‘Gone To Ground’ the follow up to their highly acclaimed debut ‘Then We Begin’. Their most recent single ‘El Morocco’ was playlisted for 4 weeks on BBC 6 Music this November, with BBC Radio sessions now under their belt for 6 Music, BBC Stoke and BBC Liverpool. The band have been playing shows up and down the UK, with recent highlights including a spot at The Liverpool Psych Fest in September:

“A pillow of jangly guitars and sweet harmonies. A beautiful record” Shindig!

“A sublime mix of 12-string led summer-breeze pop, an outstanding melodic soundtrack of skilfully crafted songs” 8 Out of 10 – Vive Le Rock

“The Stoke songsmiths are back, and it’s been well worth the wait” CLASSIC ROCK

Leicester based The Silver Factory are signed to Spanish label Elefant Records, and have just released their 2nd release a mini LP ‘If Words Could Kill’. They write melodic jangly pop with influences from C86, Sarah Records, The La’s to Velvet Underground and The Beatles.
